- Nineteen-year-old Orsay lives an uneventful life in the French countryside, until the day he gains extraordinary powers in his hands after an encounter with a mysterious creature known as a whol. On a trip to Paris in search of a cure, he meets and falls for Basma, a passionate activist for whols' rights. But Orsay isn't convinced that whols should be considered equal to humans. Especially once Melek, another human with the same powers, embarks on a murderous rampage to avenge those she sees as her kin.
Florent Ruppert and Jérôme Mulot were born in 1979 and 1981, and met at fine arts school in Dijon in 1999, at a backyard barbecue. Their artistic collaboration began a few years later, in 2002, between Amsterdam and Dijon, with both of them contributing to the writing and illustration of their projects. In 2007, their second book, 'Panier de singe,' won the Revelation Prize at the Angouleme International Comics Festival. Their more recent work includes the two-part crime fiction story 'La Grande Odalisque' (Dupuis 2012, Europe Comics in English 2018) and the innovative graphic novel 'La technique du périnée' (Dupuis, 2014; 'The Perineum Technique,' Europe Comics 2018).
